Christmas/New Year Show

KAW hosted the annual Christmas/New Year celebration on Sunday, January 6th, 2008 from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Interlake Performing Arts Center in Bellevue. Celebrations started with a catered Buffet lunch (Chicken Biriyani) at 12.05 PM followed by cultural fest by KAW members. KAW wishes you Merry Christmas & Happy New year and thanks all the 400+ people for participating in this year's celebrations. Special Thanks to KAW's Lead Program/Food coordinators Ojus, Santhosh, Sanju, Ram & all other volunteers for coordinating this event. The Cultural Show had 16 distinct programs including Christmas Carols, Margamkali, Classical, Semi-classical, Folk & Cinematic Dances, Group Song by KAW Malayalam Class students, other Solo/Duet/Parody Songs, Comedy programs (2 Skits) etc. After the event, the elections to EC 2008 was held. KAW Chess Tournament

KAW Chess Tournament was held on Jan 5th at Crossroads, Bellevue. Around 16 people participated in the Tournament. Thanks to George Daniel for sponsoring the Trophies. Details here.

Movie Chocolate

KAW's December special Movie, Chocolate featuring PrithviRaj, Jayasurya, Salimkumar was well received with more than 130+ people in attendance. This movie was screened on Dec 29th.

KAW Cards Tournament

KAW Cards - "28" Tournament was held on Nov 17th at Valleyridge Center, Seatac. The "56" Semi & Finals as well as Rummy Tournament was held on Dec 1st. Thanks to Kerala Talkies for sponsoring the Trophies. Details here.

KAW Racquetball Tournament

KAW Racquetball Tournament was held on November 11th at Lynnwood. 6 Teams participated in Doubles & 13 KAW members fought for the Singles Crown. Thanks to Thomas Mudayankavil for sponsoring the Trophies. Details here.

Movie Arabikkadha

KAW's latest Movie, Arabikkadha inspired by the genius of Sreenivasan was a stupendous success with more than 200+ people in attendance. This fine movie screened on Sep 29th, educed very good feedback from the crowd.

Onam Megashow

KAW hosted a grand Onam celebration on Sunday, September 16th, 2007 from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Sammamish Performing Arts Center in Bellevue. Celebrations started with a sumptuous Onam Sadhya (Buffet lunch) at 12.45 PM followed by the cultural extravaganza. KAW wishes you a wonderful and prosperous Onam and thanks all the 700+ people for participating in this year's Onam celebrations. Special Thanks to KAW's Lead coordinators Ojus John, Neeni, Santhosh, Ram & all other volunteers for coordinating a stupendously successful potluck Onamsadhya for so many people & to the volunteers & partipants for the outstanding stageshow laced with 20 classy items. And true to the greater cause of humanity, KAW has organized an Onamsadhya at an Orphanage in Kerala, sponsored three kids for two years, built watertanks for rain-harvesting & also supported a Bone Marrow Donation Drive as part of the Onam Celebration.

KAW Charity Drive

KAW has sponsored 3 orphaned kids of an S.O.S village & also organized an Onam Feast in an orphanage this year apart from the other projects of supporting 2 drinking water projects in Chellanam and the various BoneMarrow, Charity & other drives in the USA. Movie Hello

KAW's Onam Movie, the Mohanlal-starrer Hello on Sep 8th was well attended by more than 170+ people. Thanks to all the attendees for yet another success.

KAW Volleyball Tournament

KAW Volleyball Tournament was held on Aug 18th at Renton. 4 Teams fought it out for the crowning glory. "Kozhencherry Spikers" won the championship prevailing over "Pathanamthitta Thunders", "Sixers" & "Tharikidas". Thanks to P.M. Mathew for sponsoring the Trophies. Details & Pics here.

India Day

This year, August 15th was officially proclaimed as India Day in the state of Washington. The Indian Association of Washington presented an Indian cultural show on Aug 18th with KAW presenting a Thiruvathira Dance, which was highly acclaimed by the audience. KAW Tennis Tournament

KAW Tennis Tournament was held on Aug 5th at Bothell. 9 Teams participated in Doubles & 16 KAW members battled it out for the Singles Crown. Thanks to Universal Consultants for sponsoring the Trophies. Details & Pics here.

KAW successfully presented Dileep/Mukesh/Meera team's comedy hit Movie Vinodayathra on Aug 4th at 1.30 pm at TotemLake Cinema. Thanks to each of you for your support.

KAW Annual Picnic

KAW's Summer Picnic was held on July 28th at the Pine Lake Park in Sammamish. The attendance wasn't great with only about 200 people showing up. Free food was served to all and the attendees also participated in a variety of games including a keenly contested Tug-of-war event!. KAW Cricket Tournament

KAW Cricket Tournament was held on July 22nd at the Micosoft Turf Ground. "Pulikkoottam" team won the championship which also featured three other teams - "Spurs", Mayavis" & "Seattle Chekavers". Thanks to "Kerala Talkies" for sponsoring the Prizes. Details and pictures here.

KAW Badminton Tournament

KAW Badminton Tournament was held on July 7th at the Kent Commons Center. Around 40 people participated in the Singles and Doubles Tournaments sponsored by Mathew Titus & family. Details here.

Movie Mayavi

KAW successfully staged Padmashree Mammootty's Super Hit Movie Mayavi on June 2nd at 1.30 pm at TotemLake Cinema. KAW thanks the 220+ attendees for making this event a success.

KFB Charity Drive

On Saturday May 12th, seventeen KAW volunteers helped the Kent Food Bank in sorting a portion of the tonnes of food that came in from the letter-carriers drive. Thanks to everybody who attended, particularly the KAW youth for their dedication to community service. Click here for details

Summer in USA

KAW's grand stage show Summer in USA on May 4th was a phenomenal success per feedback received from the audience. The 400+ audience were treated to a lavish spectacle of music, dance, comedy and magic by Kalabhavan Shajohn, Kalabhavan Prajod, Kalabhavan Jayakumar, Singer Franko, Shalu Menon & Team. Thanks to everybody who attended and made this program a success. "Summer in USA" showcased Comedy Programs led by Kalabhavan Shajohn, Kalabhavan Prajod & Kalabhavan Jayakumar, Ganamela (Karaoke) led by Franko, a unique Magic Show by Prof. Gopinath Muthukad's assistant Raj Kalesh and beautiful Classical, Folk as well as Cinematic Dances by Shalu Menon and party! Their sheer energy at the stage was just awesome to watch!..Undoubtedly, one of the best performances ever in USA by a troupe. The show started at 7.45 pm and ended at 11.15 pm. KAW also served delicious Food to all attendees at a nominal cost. Also, as a special gift to our little ones, all the kids under 15 got in absolutely free! The proceeds from this show goes to KAW's charity programs.

KAW Talent Show

KAW's cultural event for children, PrathibhaSangamam (Talent Show & Musical Nite) was conducted on Saturday, April 21st 2007 from 4.30 to 6.45 PM at the Mar Thoma Church Hall in Kent. KAW President Neeni George welcomed the audience. A very meaningful Mother's Day Message was delivered by Thomas George. Divya Sarah John performed the emcee's role with distinction. The program was totally free for KAW members. Free snacks were also served. KAW's bright young talents entertained the crowd with film/folk songs, dance, violin, carnatic music, Fancy Dress and Fashion Show. A short drama by kids on "Birbal & Akbar", scripted by Suneetha Ranjith, a Mother's day presentation (in the background) by Mili Ojus and a colorful "Anthakshari" program involving all audience added to the event. All the kids walked away with prizes and candies!!! KAW Secretary Ojus John rendered the Vote of Thanks. KAW is specially thankful to Mr. Mathew Joseph (AtHome Tution Inc) for sponsoring the Food for the event. KAW also thanks all the EC members, especially food coordinator Neeni George and Program coordinators Ojus John, Asha Sudheesh & Santhi Madhu. KAW members PM Mathew, Madhu Kangara, Latha Goraphy etc also supported the EC well. However it is a sad fact that inspite of all the best efforts put forward by the KAW EC, the attendance was not that great. EC exhorts all KAW members to use these forums to give our children a chance to showcase their various skills without inhibition..Thanks to all attendees! KAW 2007 Executive Committee Elected

KAW's 12-member EC for 2007 was elected in the Annual General Body Meeting on 6th Jan, 2007. Mrs. Neeni George assumed the President's duties and Mr. Ojus John was elected as the new Secretary. Mr. Santhosh Nair is the Vice President and Mr. Ram Pranam the Treasurer.
