Rules of Fancy Dress Competition

  1. Only child(ren) of KAW 2010 members can participate. You can become a member at the venue by paying $15 membership fee (per family).
  2. All participants (their parents in case the participant is a minor) must sign the KAW non-liability form. If you can bring a signed copy of the form, that will speed up the registration process.
  3. Competitions will be held in two categories: 1-7 and 8-14
  4. The idea is to transform you to another creature or person or object by creative use of makeup and costume.
  5. KAW reserve the right to appoint judges for the competition. The verdict of the judges will be final.
  6. Marks will be awarded based on the following criteria:
    • Be creative (40%). Wearing a Halloween costume is ok, but a hand-made one will be considered more “creative.” You can also show off creativity by carefully choosing the creature or person or object that you want to be.
    • Costume (30%): Choose your costume wisely to bring out the creativity in you.
    • Makeup/props (30%): Putting on a costume that will cover your entire body will prevent you from using makeup creatively. You can use anything including walking stick to background music as your “prop.”
  7. The competition will be cancelled if there aren't at least 2 participants in each category.
  8. The winner and runner up will be among the chief guests of KAW 2010’s Onam and Christmas Celebrations as “Mavelis” and “Santas”. They will also get Baskin Robbins gift cards. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
