Onam Mega Event on Sep 9, 2006
Ella Malayalikalkkum KAW Varthavibhagathinte hrudayangamamaya Onashansakal!!!!. Our Onam celebrations will start at 11.30 am on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton with the sumptuous Onam Sadhya (Potluck-Buffet lunch). This will be followed by the grand variety entertainment show by members of the association. KAW cordially invites all of you with family and friends to participate in this year's Onam celebrations. We also encourage you to bring any number of your Non-Malayali friends also to this great gathering of ours..
1. Onam Sadhya
We encourage you to bring a vegetarian dish for the Onam Pot-luck Lunch. You may please call one of the food coordinators and let them know about the dish(es) you intent to bring, if you haven't already done so!!..Kindly make sure that you are able to bring the dishes before 12.00 pm.

2. Onam Arts Fest
KAW thanks all its members for the overwhelming responses for staging programs during the Onam fest. The Program Committee has finalized the list of around 18 programs, a mixture of Solo/Group Songs, Classical, Semi-Classical performances, Cinematic shows, Instrumental Music and Comedy programs. We have also lined up "Thiruvathira" and a special Onam Musical named "Ente Keralam" for you!! More than 60 performers will be on stage!!! Detailed Program Schedule will be sent out a day before the Event. The Participants have already been informed about the specific timings and other details. If you would like to place your business AD in the program sheet (Half-page at a silly price of less than 50 dollars!!!!..Can you believe it???) or if you've any other questions about the programs, please call one of the Program Coordinators:

From I-405 North or South:
1. Take Rainier Ave exit 2B (Hwy 167 North)
2. Continue going North at the end of the freeway which turns into Rainier Ave
3. Continue on Rainier Ave
4. Turn Right on to S. 3rd ST (do not turn to S 3rd PL)
5. Go about 4 blocks to Logan ST and turn Left
6. Go 1 block to S 2nd ST and turn Left
7. School is on the Right.

Donation at the Gate
As the Renton IKEA Center rent, insurance and incidental expense totals to around $2000, we are forced to charge a nominal gate fee of five dollars. Membership application forms will be available at the entrance of the auditorium.
KAW 2006 members - $5 per adult
($15 max for a family of 4 and $20 for more)
Non Members - $10 per adult.
(Adult - aged above 15 years)

KAW Malayalam classes!
The proposed start date of KAW's Malayalam course is September 17, 2006. The classes will be held at a Public Library from 2:00-4:00PM
every Sunday for 10 weeks. The location of the classes will be finalized based on the
convenience of the students enrolling the course. The faculty has expressed their consent
for conducting the classes at one of the following locations- Renton, Bellevue and Bothell.
As you know, the classes are open to all KAW member's children of age group 6-14. The total number of
students in the class is restricted to 10, admission being completed on a
first come first served basis.
Award for Angela Suresh
KAW member Suresh Goraphy's daughter Angela has received an award from Mr. Gokulam Goplan (Chairman of World Malayali Council) for her dance "Gange Thuduyil.." (from the movie 'Vadakkunnathan'). She performed the dance during the Global Conference conducted by the World Malayalee Council on August 1-6 at Cochin, India. Angela will be doing the same dance during KAW's Onam 2006 program. |
