with the Welcome Message by KAW President, Mr. Babu Parayil. The Kent Mar Thoma Church Vicar, Rev Father Roy Thomas inaugurated the function
and delivered a thought-provoking Mother's day message. The "Sangeetha Sayahnam" was literally a treat for the 80+ strong audience featuring songs by

conducted by KAW. The fun-filled "Anthakshari" event conducted by Jojo Chalissery & Kalpana Hariprasad succeeded in involving the entire audience. It was more than appropriate that the prizes for the "Anthakshari"
were distributed by KAW's distinguished former Presidents, Mr. Aniyan Mattamel & Mr. P.M.Mathew. The wonderful Musical Evening came to a close with the
"Vote of Thanks" by the Secretary of KAW, Mr. Santhosh Nair. Free snacks were served to the audience after the event. KAW thanks the entire audience and Program Coordinators Mr. Madhu Kangara & Mr. Ojus John for a beautiful eve..

KAW Volunteers completes this year's first Community Program on May 13, 2006
On Saturday May 13 2006, the volunteers from KAW led by Mr. Babu Parayil, Mr. Binoy Varughese,
Rev Fr. Roy Thomas & Mr. Aniyan Mattamel helped the Kent Food Bank in sorting the hundreds of packets of food that comes in from the letter carriers drive.
This food drive was one of the largest of the year. Every volunteer worked tirelessly for over 2 hours as committed by KAW to Kent Food Bank. Only disappointment
was that if we had more volunteers we could've helped them for 2 more hours, which would've been even more satisfying. Hope our fellow members will take a lead from this
and come out in strong numbers to support KAW's future Community programs.
In addition to the above mentioned, KAW salutes the following people also for their participation : Giri Nair, Ojus John, Mili Ojus, Renjith Chidarankandy, Toji Thomas,
Sujit Kuruvilla, Regi Thomas, Tojy Oommen, Anil Francis, Dr. Jacob Alexander, Benie Parayil, Jessin Thomas, Jerin Thomas, Soby Mathew, Syba Mathew, Nelvin mathew, Noble Mathew, Charlie & Bonney Mathew.

KAW's "Help Viraj" Fund
Viraj was born on March 3rd, 2003 in Phoenix. On August 29th, 2005, he was diagnosed with Leukemia and for survival he needed a bone marrow transplant.
That brings Viraj and his parents - Vipin and Seena - to Seattle. The transplant was done in April 2006 and Viraj is still not in a stable condition.
As we all know the treatment for marrow transplant is very expensive. The last two years of treatment and the fact that the whole family is staying in
Seattle (away from their Phoenix home), put a big financial burden on this family. On top of all their sufferings, last week, Viraj's grand mother
(Seena's mother) passed away in Kerala.
Viraj's parents do not want bother any one of us with their financial needs. But KAW understands their situation and feels that we have a responsibility
to help them and we have made an appeal to the local community for financial support. KAW thanks Mr.Jyothish Nair for heading this great initiative..
Request to KAW members :
The KAW EC appeals to all members/friends of KAW to join in our efforts to raise funds for Viraj.

Welcome to June!!!
Welcome to June. Ready or not, here comes summer. The upside of that: the dreamy blue skies and sunburn weather that make activities like floating the Yakima Canyon a good reason to live in this drizzly-for-nine-months-of-the-blessed-year neck of the woods.
The downside: With warmer weather come things that bug you in the woods
