KAW participates in Asian Fest' 06
KAW's talented artists made the Malayali Community proud yet again by their stellar performances at the "Asian Cultural Festival" at the Seattle Center on Oct 15-th. Couple of the finest programs staged at the Onam'06 Arts Fest were presented before an International audience on 15-th afternoon.
"Thiruvonakkazhcha", the charming musical presentation by 21 of our little kids in different Kerala attires was the first item to grace the stage under the "Kerala" section. Kids were dressed as couples in different religions, Traditional Farmers, in Kalarippayattu & Mohiniyattam attires etc.. Suneetha Ranjith gave a good introduction to the item, enabling the crowd to know more about our land, Kerala.
All the kids - Rohan Biju, Roshan Biju, Aju Ranjeeth, Gayathri Santhosh, Ravi Madhu, Raveena Madhu, Varsha Santhosh, Vivek Santhosh, Minnu Sudheesh, Meghana Manoj, Dhrisya Shyam, Uma Salgunan, Riya Anil, Ryan Anil, Vishnu Viswanathan, Hemant Prajnish, John Nelju & George Nelju, Dimbu Thomas, Shruti Hariprasad & Mercy Frederick deserves special accolades and so does the "Mother's Team", the brains behind the presentation. Time for the grown-ups to showcase their talent.. And didn't they do it in style? Mili Ojus gave the introductory message to set the tone for the outstanding "Nruthyathi" dance by Divya Santhosh, Manju Jyothish, Preetha Jayesh, Julie Ashley, Ranjini Prakash & Soumya Pradeep. Easily "Nruthyathi" was one of the highlights of the whole program.. Well, what did the men folks do, other than clapping for the programs? KAW's Vice-President, the gifted Madhu Kangara was part of the "Geethanjali" team, entertaining all with three roaring Tamil Item Numbers. The events were very well-attended, including 60+ KAW members led by KAW Secretary Santhosh Nair...Thanks to all!!..
KAW Talent Fest Canceled
"Eee thanuppathu enthu Talent Fest??"..Maybe the majority of us thought so:)) Due to the lack of enough response, KAW EC was forced to cancel the proposed "Talent Fest" on Nov 11. KAW sincerely thanks all those who expressed their interest in participation. Now, let's move on to grand yearend fest..the X'mas and New Year Celebrations which is tentatively scheduled for Jan 6th, 2007. Do turn out in large numbers and make that occasion a grand success just as we did for the Onam fest..More details to follow..
